Fall Protection Awareness.
As the world’s largest independent height safety brand, Guardian is dedicated to promoting fall protection awareness and ensuring the safety of workers at height.
Explore our comprehensive range of resources and tools designed to educate, inform and support organizations and their workers in preventing falls and promoting height safety.
Why Is Fall Protection
Awareness Important?
Falls are among the most common causes of serious work related injuries and deaths. OSHA states that employers must set up the work place to prevent employees from falling off of overhead platforms, elevated work stations or into holes in the floor and walls.
When working at height it is vitally important to have a good understanding of the principals of fall protection.

Inspect What You Expect
Prior to EACH use, inspect your height safety product for deficiencies, including, but not limited to, corrosion, deformation, pits, burrs, rough surfaces, sharp edges, cracking, rust, paint build-up, excessive heating, alteration, broken stitching, fraying, and missing or illegible labels.
During inspection, consider all applications and hazards the product has been subjected to. Product lifetime is indefinite as long as it passes pre-use and Competent Person inspections. IMMEDIATELY remove product from service if defects or damage are found, or if exposed to forces of fall arrest.
At least every 12 months, a Competent Person other than the user must inspect the product. Inspections MUST be recorded and made available to all users at all times.
Guardian has created a range of Height Safety Product Inspection Forms, in both English and Spanish, available to download from our online Media Center. Guardian Inspection Forms can also be accessed on the relevant product pages.
Using a simple checklist design, and utilizing interactive buttons and fillable fields for accurate record-keeping, Guardian’s Inspection Forms guide users on what areas to examine on their Fall Protection equipment.
Donning A Harness
How to Don Your
Harness Correctly
Correctly wearing a fall protection harness is essential for safety when working at height. Master the methods for fastening and adjusting the various buckle designs, and ensure the dorsal D-ring and chest strap are positioned correctly for optimal safety performance.
We have created an easy to follow video showing the correct way to don and adjust a full body harness. The Guardian Harness Donning video is also available on our YouTube channel.
Calculating Fall Clearance
Determine Your Safe Working Height with Our Digital Tool
Calculating fall clearance is an essential part of maintaining a safe environment for workers at height. Our intuitive tool allows users to easily calculate their fall clearance using multivariate inputs including anchor point location, SRL arrest distance, and worker offset from the anchor point.
The tool also simultaneously calculates swing fall values and provides an easy-to-understand output via a color-coded results window to indicate whether clearance is acceptable or could create potential harm to a worker in the event of a fall.
The updated calculator now includes fall clearance data for Guardian Class 1 and 2 SRLs compliant with the latest ANSI - American National Standards Institute Z359.14-201 standard, as well as data for legacy Class A and B SRLs. To learn more about the standard visit our FAQ Page.
