OSHA 1910.29 and 1926.502 require guardrails to have a top rail height of 42 inches, plus or minus 3 inches, and to withstand 200 pounds of outward or downward force. To meet these requirements, the Guardrail Estimation Tool uses built-in spacing and outrigger rules, so every prelimenary layout you create is sent to our GES team to confirm, installation conditions, and applicable requirements are met so your project is OSHA and ANSI compliant.
